Indifference to suffering - unless it's the Palestinians

Of all the troubled peoples in the world, why is it a given that the Palestinians, above all others, need all the worldwide support they can get? Why is there such indifference to the extreme brutality of some African regimes?

A disturbing article appeared in the Guardian’s Comment is Free section a few days ago, written by Esayas Isaak about his brother Dawit, a Swedish journalist, who has been held in Eritrea without charge for eight years. I urge you to read the article below and then access this link:
