Leeds Maccabi 1st 5
Armley Cons 2

Leeds Maccabi 1st warmed up for next weekend’s titanic tussle against New Unicorn by producing another five-star showing.

Ian Selwyn’s side swept Armley Cons aside in the first game following the winter break.

Dave Woolman continued his rich vein of form with an impressive double, while Richard Black, Daniel Seligman and Dan Ross completed the rout.

Two late goals from the visitors added a touch of respectability, but Leeds comfortably held on for all three points.

Maccabi have won seven of their eight league games so far this season and sit three points off the top.

And boss Selywn is now looking forward to Sunday’s clash with reigning champions and unbeaten league leaders New Unicorn.

“It was a good hard-fought win after a long break,” said Selwyn.

“We were a little rusty in parts but looked comfortable in the end.

“I was pleased with the way the team played on its return, but next week will be a much bigger test against New Unicorn.
