Leeds Maccabi 2nd produced a five-star showing to finally end their nightmare run of form.

Simon Fisher’s men had failed to win a single league game, before finally claiming three precious points at the 12th time of asking.

The result moves Maccabi off the bottom of the table and above fellow strugglers Rodley Barge, who were put to the sword following an impressive display by Fisher’s side.

Nick Vale fired Maccabi ahead after just 12 minutes, before doubling his tally for the day soon after following neat work by Jordan Sherne.

Maccabi were 3-0 up by the interval thanks to an own-goal, while further strikes from Oliver Abrahamson and Dan Davidson completed the rout.

“I was delighted with everyone,” said Maccabi boss Fisher.

“We've been working up to a performance like this for weeks, and I'm hopeful it will set us up for a decent run in.

“It'll also be nice to go a few days without getting the dreaded 'vote of confidence'.”
