Leeds Maccabi 2nd gave league leaders West Leeds a real scare after producing a valiant performance.

West Leeds, unbeaten in the league all season and three points clear at the top, found it tough against a Maccabi side still searching for their first win of the campaign.

Despite falling behind to any early goal, Maccabi dominated for large periods of the contest with Louie Fisher particularly impressive in midfield.

Fisher almost brought his side level before the break with a stunning drive, which rattled the bar from 18-yards.

But that effort seemed to wake West Leeds from their slumber with a quick two-goal blast giving the home side a 3-0 lead at the break.

To their credit, Maccabi rallied after the interval and Nick Vale slotted home within minutes of the restart after neat play by Colin Abrams.

Fisher than reduced the deficit further, when his tame effort somehow managed to squeeze past the Wes Leeds keeper.

Maccabi continued to pile forward in search of an equaliser, but with time running out, West Leeds grabbed the crucial fourth to seal the points.
