Michael Klinger says he is determined to rekindle his hopes of breaking into the Australia squad after making the move to County Championship side Worcestershire.
The former Maccabi AJAX star has made a steady start after swapping South Australia for New Road having signed a deal with Worcestershire until May 20.
Klinger, who recently lost his post as skipper of the Redbacks to South African Johan Botha, is hoping his move to the UK will go down well with the Australia selectors.
"I wouldn't still be playing cricket if I didn't believe I couldn't get into the Australia side," he said.
"I've been in good form recently and hopefully by coming to Worcestershire it will help me improve and catch the eye.
"I had a good one-day record last year and Australia have a one-day series against England this summer so who knows?
"The conditions here are so difficult with the wet ball and the weather so it's great experience for me to learn from.
"I'm hopeful this will help me to get into the Australia side because it's still a goal of mine."
After leading the Redbacks to their first one-day title in 25 years last season, Klinger was dropped as skipper after his side's poor showing in the four-day game format. But the Melbourne-born batsman insists the setback will not have a negative impact on his form or confidence in the long run.
He said: "This gives me the opportunity to just concentrate on my batting and hopefully do myself justice."
