The poll followed our exclusive front-page story last week in which she revealed she has been attending Shabbat services for a month and has begun studying Hebrew.
It has been the most read story on this site so far this week and was followed up by several other newspapers, including the Guardian and a number of bloggers.
Rabbi Elizabeth Tikvah Sarah told Buzzle.com: "People become friends because their partners are Jewish but they also join for other reasons. Sometimes it's because they identify with our inclusion and egalitarianism.
She told the JC: “I first thought about converting when I was 25. I will be 50 next month so it’s hardly a flash in the pan. At a time of rising and increasingly vicious antisemitism from both left and right, becoming Jewish especially appeals to me."
