David Garbacz, manager of Hendon United Sports Club A, believes his team will last the distance in the Premier Division title race after crushing defending champions North West Neasden A 7-2.
Strikes from defender Paul Bentley (2), Yishai Last, Ben Kon, Greg Corin, Avidan Last and Josh Bentley kept the Reds within a point of leaders Redbridge Jewish Care A, whom they have to play again.
Garbacz said: "We put up another quality performance against a Neasden team clearly lacking in confidence.
"We had to be patient, especially in the first half, but scored a crucial goal just before the break to go 2-1 up. This gave us the confidence to really drive home that advantage in the second half and in the end we ran out very comfortable winners.
"We are taking each game as it comes but it is certainly getting very interesting at the top. We were buoyed by the Redbridge draw at Faithfold as that now leaves matters in our hands which is the way we like it."
Ben Joseph scored the only goal as London Maccabi Lions A edged past Neasden B.
