Mature students from across Europe took part in the Jewish European Professional group's inaugural event.

A sister organisation of the European Centre of Jewish Students, Brussels-based JEP will provide professionals aged 27 to 39 with a range of programmes and activities as well as three major events a year.

More than 120 people from 16 countries including Russia, Serbia, Monaco and the Netherlands took part in the trip to Malta to mark the launch. Kosher food was delivered by plane and in a seven-ton truck which travelled more than 2,000 miles from Belgium to the island via ferry from Sicily to cater for the revellers. Participants enjoyed a scenic bicycle tour, a cruise of the Grand Harbour and Marsamxetto Harbour, and walking tours of Birgu, Valetta and Mdina. A gala dinner concluded the celebrations.
