Leeds had beaten South Manchester 2-0 in the recent Shonn Trophy final, but few could have predicted the manner of their revenge mission, with top-scorer Gould taking just two minutes to open his and South’s account.

Gould doubled South’s advantage nine minutes later, curling a free-kick into the top corner, leaving Leeds goalkeeper Reece Levy rooted to the spot.

An inspired Gould completed his hat-trick with a deft lob early in the second half and continued his sensational display of ruthless finishing with two further strikes to make it 5-0.

Leeds were shellshocked, but Rafi Kay lashed home a consolation goal with a curling free-kick. However, it was fitting the final word went to Gould who completed the scoring with a sixth goal for South.

Leeds were awarded a penalty in added time, but their day was summed up when goalkeeper Levy sent his effort crashing against the post.

Gould, who has scored 27 goals this season, collected the man-of-the-match award, while , Kay was presented with the MJSL’s Player of the Year award - the Tony Waltzer Trophy.

Leeds must now regroup for their final league match against Maccabi Masters on May 29, where they need a point to take the title. Anything less will mean Maccabi Yellow will win the league.
