Zack Gothelf has urged his Oakhill Lions to make history and become the first side in MJSL history to win the Harold Feldman Trophy three years in a row.
Oakhill moved up to second in the league table following last weekend’s 6-3 thrashing of Broughton and have lost just once all season.
The Lions defeated Haroldeans 3-2 back in the 2010 final and thrashed South Manchester Sports Club 2nd 6-2 at Oldham Athletic’s Boundary Park last term.
And Gothelf wants more of the same when his side face winless Leeds Maccabi 3rd in Sunday’s quarter final clash.
“We’re playing really good football at the moment and we’re getting the results we deserve, but we really want to win this cup,” he said.
“We had a great day out playing at Oldham last season and we want to do that again.
“Leeds is a game that we would be very disappointed not to win, especially the way we’re playing.
“Hopefully we can keep it up and make sure we get through to the next round.”
Gothelf is also refusing to rule out a title charge, despite being nine points behind runaway league leaders Haroldeans.
He added: “The league season is not even halfway through so I can’t rule anything out at this stage.
“There’s still a long way to go and we’re certainly not giving up.”
