Israeli film star Gal Gadot appeared on James Corden’s US chat show this week to promote her new film Keeping Up With The Joneses.
Inevitably, conversation turned to the upcoming presidential elections. Gadot made some effort to maintain a diplomatic neutrality, unlike fellow-guest Cher, but let slip that in her modelling days she had been Miss Israel and met current presidential hopeful Donald Trump at the Miss Universe contest. She described the encounter as ‘very….interesting.’
Referring to Trump’s recently publicised gaffe about ‘grabbing’ any woman that he found attractive Corden playfully remarked ’Show me on the doll where he touched you.”
Alluding to her service in the IDF Gadot replied “So, I’m Israeli - we go into the military, right? We know Krav Maga and everything.”
It’s not quite a warning. But it’s not quite ‘not a warning either.’
Gadot will soon be demonstrating her combat abilities in 2017’s keenly-anticipated Wonder Woman movie, before teaming up with Superman and Batman in Justice League later in the year.
Mr Trump’s plans for 2017 remain uncertain at time of writing.
