Gabby is from Stanmore; Nesanel has lived in Stamford Hill, Golders Green and America. She is a support worker for Kisharon, helping three severely autistic men, and is training to be a teacher. He has been working at Yad Voezer, assisting the learning disabled, for four years. They live in Golders Green

How they met
“Off from Kisharon for the summer break, I applied for a temporary job at Yad Voezer,” Gabby recalls. “Working at one of the residential homes for ladies, I was inducted by a lovely woman named Shanie [Nesanel’s mother]. She decided that I was perfect for her son. Although he didn’t approve of his mother making the match, he eventually agreed to go out with me.” Nesanel found her “a great personality and very bubbly. We just really connected.”

The proposal
“It was just before Rosh Hashanah,” she reports. “He took me to dinner, and afterwards we drove into town, parking overlooking Big Ben and the London Eye. When he finally proposed, I couldn’t quite believe it and it took me at least 10 seconds to answer. We just stood looking at each other smiling as the excitement set in.”

The wedding
They married at Stanmore Synagogue with the reception at Watford Hilton.

The honeymoon
“We haven’t decided. We are thinking of South Africa or Israel.”
