Two players were left reeling this week after being released by their clubs as the season drew to a close.
Ran Kadoch was one of five released by Barnet. The Israeli keeper, 23, has made 12 appearances since signing last August.
He finished the season in style, saving a penalty in the 2-1 defeat against Port Vale and played a part in Barnet’s consolation after going up for a corner.
Wycombe Wanderers bid farewell to midfielder Scott Shulton, 19, one of nine to leave the newly promoted club.
The future of former Wales Under 21 captain Joe Jacobson hangs in the balance, despite Bristol Rovers announcing on their website that he had not been offered a new contract.
Jacobson, whose season was marred by a broken rib and toe, said: “I have a clause in my contract that allows me to sign a new one. I will find out in the next 10 days. I do not know if I will stay or go and my agent is in discussions with the club. Without doubt, this was my most frustrating season. Every time I tried to get back into the team from injury it all went wrong.”
Maccabiah-bound Sam Sloma has parted company with Chelmsford City.
But there was better news for Rangers midfielder Dean Furman who spent most of this season on loan at Bradford City and picked up the club’s most consistent player award.
The South African-born midfielder said: “I am in talks with Rangers but will keep my options open.
“I will talk things through with my family and if it is the right option, I would love to return.”
Furman, 20, made 33 appearances for the Bantams, scoring four goals.
“It has been brilliant for me this year,” he said. “It was a big step for me to come and play first-team football but I have enjoyed every minute of it and hopefully it is improved me as a player.”
Furman will not return to Glasgow to help Rangers with their title challenge as he can only go back once the transfer window re-opens.
Looking to next season, when he hopes to feature in the South Africa World Cup squad at the finals, he said: “Wherever I am, hopefully I am playing well, trying to catch the eye.”
