Temple Fortune proved too strong for Boca with strikes from top-scorer Terry Jeffries, Simon Allen and Ben David.
Boca Jewniors were looking to get fired up on a brisk morning in South Oxhey, the Boca boys generally start well and letting it go, but it was the reverse this time out.
The home side started slowly but we’re holding off any Fortune foray into their territory. Chances were at a premium until a dubious free-kick given against a Boca defender, even though it was the Boca player on the ball,
the delivery fell in the six-yard area and poked home.
The second came in similar circumstances from a header after a Fortune attacker lost his marker. Another strange call from the referee, who was otherwise having a good game, led to a free-kick on the edge of the
box, the chance was gratefully accepted, as the 20-yard strike found its way to the top corner, an unstoppable strike from the Fortune no. 9.
Boca rallied themselves and came out all guns blazing, a shift into a more attacking formation and a change of goalkeeper meant it was Boca’s turn.
Bradley Handelaar’s presence up top was causing a stir and creating opportunities, plus Chandler Monk now positioned in a more attacking role was proving a difference.
Boca’s tactical change paid instant dividends, Jamie Weinrich fouled on the edge of the area and a Chandler Monk free-kick was deflected into the path of the returning Jack Schulman, who had a simple task of tapping into the net.
The aforementioned Handelaar then danced through the Fortune defence to set up Chandler Monk to which would have been another, if it weren’t for an unbelievable reaction save from the Fortune keeper.
The chances for Boca were flowing in a dominant second half performance, leading to the Fortune management to take a striker off and bring in an extra man in midfield. However, Fortune were dangerous on the counter-attack
where they a saw a one-on-one opportunity foiled by a fine stop from replacement ‘keeper Ryan Monk.
However, it wasn’t to be as any kitchen appliance, including many sinks, Boca could throw at their counterparts, the Fortune defence and the ‘keeper stood firm.
Boca Farrell Monk told JC Sport: "All-in-all, I thought that we did more than enough to get at least a point
from the game. The attitude from Boca continues to be top notch but we aren’t getting the results that our performances deserves.
The Temple Fortune goalkeeper gets a special mention for a good performance to keep Boca mostly at bay, particularly the save from Chandler Monk.
It was funny that in the afternoon I watched my beloved Fulham in an almost carbon copy game unbelievably losing to Spurs after having the lions-share of chances."
