Classrooms are 'calm and purposeful'
January 31, 2022 16:07Ilford’s only Orthodox primary school has retained its good status after a visit from Ofsted last month.
Governors at Wohl Ilford Primary had worked hard “under challenging circumstances to maintain a high-quality education for their pupils,” the inspection service reported.
Inspectors visit good schools every four years to confirm they remain so. This is the second such visit since Wohl Ilford received its good grade in 2011.
Pupils “love coming to school” and feel safe. Pupils behave well, play well together and “no one is left out”.
An exciting and challenging curriculum is enriched by Jewish studies, staff are successful in identifying gaps in pupils’ learning and classrooms are “calm and purposeful with no low-level disruption”.
Children quickly become fluent readers, pupils from year 3 talk confidently about their favourite authors and in maths they have regular opportunities to apply their skills through reasoning and problem-solving, Ofsted found.
