Gareth Jones will lead schools trust till end of the year
January 11, 2022 11:00The Jewish Community Academy Trust, the schools consortium set up by the United Synagogue, has appointed an interim chief executive to run it until the end of the current school year.
Gareth Jones took up the post at the beginning of the month following the departure of Kirsten Jowett.
Michael Goldstein, president of the United Synagogue, said Mr Jones had “extensive experience in the sector, having been an executive leader and previous head of five schools.
“Gareth’s pedigree and focus on raising academic standards is evident in another previous role where he was the lead school improvement partner for over 70 secondary schools in Essex.
“We are delighted that he will be able to extend his existing strong, supportive relationships with headteachers across JCAT.”
The multi-academy trust, which was launched in 2018, currently consists of four primaries: Rimon, Sacks Morasha, Hertsmere Jewish Day School and Wolfson Hillel.
JFS is widely expected to join it in the near future.
