JFS was the highest-achieving Jewish school for A-levels for a second successive year, according to figures published by the Department for Education.

The Orthodox comprehensive was the only Jewish school to attain an average A grade score for pupils in last summer’s sixthform exams.

It was also the only Jewish school to be rated well above average for progress — which measures how far students have come since GSCE.

A further six Jewish schools were rated above average for academic progress from GCSE to A-level.

The private Immanuel College achieved the best results for vocational exams at sixth form last year.

Two boys schools which serve the Strictly Orthodox sector, Manchester Mesivta and Menorah Grammar, made significant improvements, moving up from an average D grade last year to C in 2024.

JFS head David Moody, “I could not be more proud of all the hard work that every teacher and every student has put into sixth form life at JFS. It is an incredible team of people, leading an incredible group of students and my congratulations go to everyone for all their efforts.”

“Equally, it is great to see the Jewish community doing so well as a whole. The value that families place on education is exceptional.”
