Teams from Sinai Jewish Primary School and Sacks Morasha have been announced as the joint winners of the final creative challenge for Etgar 2023.

The task, to write a rap for the High Priest explaining why it was cool to have his job, was judged after last year’s month inter-schools event at Wembley Stadium in which nearly 1,000 children took part.

Adam Taub, co-founder of the Etgar Challenge, said, “The students embraced this task with incredible knowledge, skill and enthusiasm —characteristics we’ve seen reflecting throughout the Etgar Challenge this year.

“Many of the entries were very good indeed, and we found it impossible to choose between the two winners of the rap. Both poems showed great breadth of understanding, humour and literary talent.”

The main challenge, based on knowledge of the Etgar Handbook, was won by North West London Jewish Day School; North Cheshire Jewish Primary took the prize for designing the best stamps to commemorate Israel’s 75th anniversary, while Rimon produced the best creative letter.
