Cambridge Jewish freshers welcome bash

Cambridge University Jewish Society (CUJS) has arranged an event to help new students make friends before term begins.

The pre-term freshers night, in a bar in Mayfair on September 20, will include a free drink for incoming students.

CUJS has also offered to help students from outside London arrange overnight accommodation.

“It’s a chance for those who may know few or no other Jews to join the community as easily as possible, in a setting outside the frantic blur of Freshers' Week,” said Donna Hirsch, CUJS co-president.

Her co-president, Josh Marks, added: "The first few days at university can obviously be daunting, and the Cambridge term is hectic from day one, so it's nice to have faces you recognise.”
