LONDON, ENGLAND - JUNE 03: Teacher Roisin Barker removes the books from the reading corner of her classroom ahead of the return of more students from Reception and Year Six of Muswell Hill Primary School on June 03, 2020 in London, England. For the last two months, as part of Covid-19 lockdown measures, the school has taught smaller "pods" of students consisting of the children of keyworkers and those in a vulnerable situation. With restrictions now lifting and the Government encouraging schools to re-open, the school staff has been working to find the best way to provide extra spaces while still retaining the correct social distancing measures and cleanliness requirements. This week, schools across England haltingly reopened for some students, with children in reception, Year 1 and Year 6 allowed to return first. (Photo by Leon Neal/Getty Images)

Parents and pupils are being asked to express their gratitude to staff in Jewish schools as they wrestle with the demands of teaching during the pandemic.

PaJeS, the Jewish Leadership Council’s schools network, is asking people to record their thanks on a designated page online.

Schools. PaJeS said, have “coped with endless government U-turns, unclear information, anxious colleagues and parents, all while trying to deliver the best possible educational provision for their pupils.

“Currently they are educating alarming numbers of vulnerable children in school as well as providing remote learning.”

It was “time we recognised and applauded the incredible efforts of our educational providers”.

“They may not appear to be on the front line as NHS workers are. However, there is no doubt that they are making incredible sacrifices and playing an exceptional part in the fight against Covid”.
