Warning notices were issued to 12 Strictly Orthodox independent schools by the Department for Education in 2023.
Notices follow a critical inspection and require the school to produce an action plan to remedy the failings identified by Ofsted.
If schools fail to make improvements, they can face restrictions on admitting new pupils or even closure.
However, last year’s figure for Charedi schools marks a drop from the 18 that received warnings from the DfE in 2022.
So far, in the first four months of this year, just two Charedi schools have been sent notices.
A recurring problem for many Charedi schools is their decision not to teach LGBT content, as a required part of the secondary school relationships curriculum, which they say conflicts with their religious ethos.
In some Charedi schools, the omission of LGBT content is the main reason stopping them from achieving a good rating from Ofsted.
