Debates in Westminster Hall usually attract only a handful of MPs. Last week, by contrast, more than 30 queued up to make a series of powerful speeches lasting over four hours. You might wonder about the topic of this debate, one that was so important that MPs changed their diaries to attend.
The cost of living? The threat posed by radical Islam to the West? No. It was - of course - Palestine. The previous month, MPs had spent five hours debating - and endorsing - the recognition of a Palestinian state. No doubt next month they will find more time for it. The word disproportionate springs to mind. Nothing better illustrates how Israel is losing the argument than the fact that so many elected representatives think the best way for them to spend their time is repeatedly to stick the knife into the Jewish state.
