Teenagers were at the forefront of a successful online fundraising campaign, which saw over £360,000 being raised for Hand in Hand.

Half of the 483 teams were led by teenage volunteers, who already donate their time to help people in need across the community.

The money raised from over 7,000 donors means that Hand in Hand, formerly known as Shabbat Walk, can continue deploying over 850 young volunteers to support families and individuals who are housebound, elderly, unwell, or struggling with a range of complex family circumstances, such as mental health difficulties, additional needs, bereavement and single parenthood.

Hand in Hand CEO Eliezer Gilbert said: “This was a crowd-funding campaign in the truest sense, and I am beyond moved to have witnessed the community coming together and showing their support to the tune of over 7,000 individuals. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who believed in us, fundraised for us and donated to us.”

Chair of trustees Perri Noe said: "The work of Hand in Hand is unique and transformative in the community. It allows teenagers to grow as individuals by giving of themselves and of their time, whilst also genuinely improving the lives of people who are struggling.

‘I am so grateful to the communities of Manchester and London that have shown such generosity and enabled Hand in Hand to be able to continue the vital work that we do."
