Donald the tortoise is the latest addition to Jewish Blind & Disabled’s animal collection.

Belonging to 13-year-old Hasmonean High pupil Lelly Unsdorfer, Donald has been enrolled in JBD’s PETron programme.

Owners can sign up their furry, fluffy or hard-shelled friends for £5 a month, the money going towards the charity’s care for adults of all ages with physical disability or visual impairment.

PETrons are sent a name tag, toys and other treats. There is also an annual contest for cutest pet, which was judged last year by Jonathan Ross.
