Kisharon promotes from within for ‘stand-out’ CEO

Richard Franklin is the new chief executive of learning disability charity Kisharon, succeeding Beverley Jacobson, who left to become Norwood CEO.

Mr Franklin has spent most of his six years at Kisharon as fundraising and communications director, overseeing a rise in annual income from £1.6 million to £6 million-plus. Most recently, he has been the charity’s acting CEO.

He has also held senior roles at Crisis UK and Jewish Care, prior to which he was a partner at a City law firm. Another communal involvement is serving as a Highgate Synagogue warden.

Kisharon trustees’ chair Philip Goldberg said that “following a long and extensive search, it was clear Richard was the stand-out candidate”.

Mr Franklin said Kisharon was “a remarkable organisation” and that he shared its lay leaders’ “healthy ambitions for people with learning disabilities”.
