Popular Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins was a big hit with supporters of JNF KKL Scotland, attracting an audience of 420 to a concert at the Glasgow Hilton which raised in excess of £30,000 for the charity’s Meitar youth centre project in the Negev.
During an hour-long performance, Ms Jenkins spoke about her Jewish New Yorker husband Andrew Levitas. JNF KKL Scotland president Stanley Lovatt said the singer had been “incredible to work with” and presented her with a certificate for 1,000 trees in her name in the Jerusalem Hills.
The theme of the event was 115 years of JNF KKL and auction and raffle prizes included a holiday in Israel, a cruise and a £5,000 jewellery voucher.
