The chairman of the Jewish Leadership Council, Keith Black, is standing for re-election for a second three year-term.
Nominations for the leadership of the organisation are due to open on Thursday and candidates will have two weeks to put forward their names.
JLC chief executive Claudia Mendoza told members, “I am delighted to share that Keith will be standing for re-election, and he would be honoured to continue serving in this role. However, as always, all members are welcome to put their names forward for consideration.”
Black, who belongs to South Hampstead Synagogue and is a former chairman of UJIA Manchester, took office in January 2022.
He has said British Jewry was in “the fight of our lives” post October-7 and oversaw the launch earlier the year of its “Forging the Future” strategic plan setting out initiatives on the media, legal, educational and other fronts.
