Jewish women in sport have come together at the House of Lords to celebrate their successes and reflect on the challenges they face in the industry.

More than 30 athletes, representing a range of sports, were hosted by the All Party Parliamentary Group Against Antisemitism, where they shared stories of a life in sport.

Lord Mann of Holbeck Moor, who is an officer of the cross-party group, highlighted the importance of giving Jewish women in sport the platform they deserve. “Sport has the power to bring people together, but also to instil confidence, especially for Jewish women and girls, who may not often see themselves represented on the pitch,” he said.

He made a commitment to work towards greater empowerment for Jewish female athletes.

Amy Wagner, special advisor to Lord Mann, also spoke about the need to address the underrepresentation of Jewish women in sport. “We need to break down barriers and stereotypes and continue to promote the achievements of Jewish women in sport,” she said.
