For the second time since October 7, hundreds of cyclists will take part in the Ride To Bring Them Home on Sunday in London.
Wearing t-shirts with the faces of the hostages on them, the ride will take place in the morning so that participants will have time to get to the main communal anniversary event, which is in the afternoon.
Organiser Howard Kayman said that he had wanted to do another ride as a community “one year since October 7th, to show solidarity and raise awareness for those still held by Hamas, while also remembering those who have tragically lost their lives”.
Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg, senior rabbi of the Masorti movement, will be raising an Israeli flag to start the ride and the group will sing Israel’s national anthem, the Hatikvah.
Kayman was emphatic that the event, which comes nine months after the inaugural one, would not be a race and that participants would be cycling together.
On October 7, over 250 people were taken hostage into Gaza, while around 1,200 were murdered when Hamas terrorists went on a deadly rampage in the south of Israel. Over 100 people are still being held captive.
