Bournemouth Football Club chairman Jeff Mostyn kick-started the Gift charity’s barbecue fundraising season. Mr Mostyn said Gift — which distributes food parcels to the needy and involves young people in charitable work — was “a charity close to my heart”. His niece, Roxanne Stross, works for Gift and got him involved.
Ms Stross said that although London-based, Gift was also active in Manchester and, Bournemouth. “Educating kids to become givers and enabling people to volunteer with Gift’s food distribution service, tutoring club, helping hand initiative and hospital visiting — what can be better than that?”
