AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR SCOTTISH PUB CRAWL

The streets of Edinburgh blazed in neon on Saturday as the local university’s JSoc united with the campus LGBT Society for a technicolour-themed havdalah service and pub crawl. JSoc's social secretary Emma Dubin hailed a triumphant evening: “Both societies came out decked to the nines. We had a fabulous time – and the pub landlords were pretty delighted too.”

WHERE'S OBAMA?

Cambridge JSoc was seeing stars and stripes on Shabbat when Camp America took over its Friday night dinner. A speaker came to tell guests about the company’s work — hiring helpers to work in Stateside summer camps — and also offered a big bucks contribution to the cash prize raffle. According to JSoc president Josh Goodman: “It was a great success. We invited President Obama but he found out we don’t serve kneidlach and refused to come. Rumour has it he loves traditional chicken soup.”

ARRIBA, ARRIBA, RABBI

Shabbat in Nottingham came with a side dish of salsa on Friday as the local Chabadniks held a Mexican-themed dinner fiesta. Over 100 guests were treated to a raucous evening featuring guacamole, margaritas, and more than enough fajitas to satisfy a team of lucha libre wrestlers.
David Searle, a third-year economics student, said: “Every week here is always amazing, but this was something spectacular. Another huge crowd and you can really see the effort in all the details that has gone into making this happen.” Ay carumba, Chabad.
