David Blatt is locked in negotiations to join an NBA club after stepping down at Euroleague champions Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Blatt is reportedly the frontrunner to take over at the Cleveland Cavaliers and has been offered the job of chief assistant coach at the Golden State Warriors. He has also been linked with Minnesota and Atlanta.
US-born Blatt, 55, stepped down last week after Maccabi claimed the Israeli championship, having won the European championship last month with a shock victory over Real Madrid.
Blatt said: "I'm not leaving Maccabi for a bigger contract. I'm not necessarily leaving for a better place. I'm leaving to follow my dream."
