Jason Isaacs, the Jewish actor famed for his role in the Harry Potter films, has been nominated for a BAFTA for his role in a BBC drama.
Isaacs played actor Harry H Corbett in the BBC Four one-off drama The Curse of Steptoe, which centred on the off-screen relationships of the cast of the BBC sitcom Steptoe and Son, and how the success of the series affected their careers.
He is nominated for Best Actor at the BAFTA television awards alongside Stephen Dillane, Ken Stott and Ben Whishaw.
Jason recently appeared as a Jewish psychologist in the film ‘Good’, an adaptation of C P Taylor’s play, but he is most famous for playing the evil Lucius Malfoy in three of the Harry Potter films.
Isaacs, originally from Liverpool, moved to north London aged 11 and attended Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School in Elstree.
