Newly released video footage of the October 7 attack appears to show a Hamas fighter preparing to behead an Israeli civilian.
The clip, which was filmed by a stationary CCTV camera at Nir Oz Kibbutz, features a terrorist with a gun slung across his back kneeling down next to a body lying lifeless at the side of the road.
The man then produces a knife and raises it above his victim’s head.
The footage, which was broadcast in redacted form by CNN, is said by the American network to then show the Hamas militant “sawing” at the Israeli’s neck.
The clip released by the broadcaster shows the Palestinian attacker then walking to a second civilian lying motionless on the ground and pointing his knife at their head.
CNN say they recieved the footage from an unnamed Israeli source.

It is the latest evidence produced of the brutal methods of execution and mutilation practised by Hamas during the October 7 attack.
Footage shown to journalists by the Israeli government included one clip filmed by the terror group of its fighters beheading a Thai migrant worker worker with a farm tool.
According to the grieving father of an IDF soldier, militants took his son's head into Gaza with them when they returned after killing 1,200 Israelis.
Speaking on Israel’s Channel 14, David Tahar claimed Hamas members attempted to sell the severed body part of Sergeant Adir Tahar, 19.
"It's insanely barbaric,” he said.
“The terrorists, the barbarians, they beheaded him and took the head to Gaza. I did everything I could, it wasn't easy, in the end I got a body without a head.
"I insisted that the army let me see the body. They tried to explain to me that I should not see it.”
IDF soldiers reportedly recovered Adir's head from a freezer in Gaza.
Tahar added: “Half an hour before I buried my child, his body arrived at Mount Herzi, I opened the coffin when I was alone.
"I understood then what I was burying. He was unrecognisable.”
Israeli officials such as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu say the horrifying tactics mean, "Hamas is ISIS and ISIS is Hamas."
