Jeremy Corbyn appeared alongside a prominent anti-Israel journalist, who is now suspended from Labour, at a Palestine Solidarity Campaign meeting that discussed “how the Israeli state is trying to associate the left with antisemitism”.

Mr Corbyn chaired a panel at the 2014 Palestine Solidarity Campaign AGM, with Asa Winstanley who writes for the Electronic Intifada blog.

According to a report of the meeting, which was uncovered by journalist for invesitative website Bellingcat on Twitter, the AGM included an “excellent panel discussion chaired by Jeremy Corbyn MP” that featured Mr Winstanley.

According to the report, Mr Corbyn “wanted to pay tribute” to journalists “that put themselves in difficult and dangerous situations in order to bring the truth to us.”

The report summed up the happenings of the AGM and said that Mr Winstantley and Electronic Intifada receive more stories on Israel and Palestine than “they can keep up with.”

Earlier this month, Mr Winstanley, who has 27,000 followers on Twitter, was suspended from Labour, pending an investigation.

It came to light after people on social media highlighted the fact he was a party member, which shocked many.

Mr Winstanley, a member of the Brent North Constituency Labour Party, signed an open letter urging the party's governing body not to adopt the IHRA antisemitism definition.

He called the Jewish Labour Movement an "Israeli embassy proxy" and accused it of "shameless sabotage of the party" for submitting a dossier of Jew-hate in the party to the Equality and Human Rights Commission, which is now investigating.

He attacked Momentum, the pro-Corbyn campaign group, for acknowledging Labour's antisemitism issue, saying it should rename itself "Momentum Friends of Israel".

He accused Labour Friends of Israel chair Joan Ryan who had "fabricated antisemitism".

As well as the panel chaired by Mr Corbyn, members voted at the AGM on a motion tabled by now-expelled Labour member Zionist Tony Greenstein.

Mr Greenstein brought a motion “on severing relations with the Palestinian Authority,” because Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas had condemned the BDS movement.

The report suggested that “a good debate ensued,” where “Tony argued that Abbas is just an Israeli patsy and we should not deal with them.”

The report noted "many spoke in opposition and whilst there maybe concerns about Abbas and the PA we cannot pick and choose who we work with and to sever links would cause damage with the Palestinian people".
