British Transport Police has issued an appeal for witnesses after a visibly Jewish man was subjected to antisemitic abuse on the London underground earlier this month.

Just before 12.30am on Sunday July 4 an individual chanted “I f***ing hate the Jews… we’ve got a Jew here” at Oxford Circus station.

The incident, which was captured on video and widely shared across social media, sparked widespread condemnation.

Police are now investigating the incident as a religiously aggravated public order offence.

The force has released an image of an individual they believe may have information that can help their investigation.

If you recognise him, or have any information, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 90 of 04/07/21.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
