JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- EDAN DODI (Hertswood Vale) - latched on to a delightful Elio Elia through-ball to fire home on the stroke of half-time

- STEVE SUMMERS (Redbridge JC A) - received the ball with his back to goal 25 yards out, turned quickly and clipped a beautiful, inch-perfect chip that beat the keeper and went in off the bar - a quality moment that deserved to win any game

- MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - fabulous 25-yard free-kick into roof of the net

- JACOB RICHLER-KLEIMAN (Oakwood B) - scored a brilliant goal after taking down a Daniel Selwyn pass. Lobbed the keeper for a considerable distance.

- DANIEL SELIGMAN (Oakwood B) - 25-yard free-kick right down the throat of the keeper

- ALEX SHERR (NL Raiders C) - fantastic goal direct from a free-kick from Sherr which found the bottom left corner

- ZAC SUMMERFIELD (Scrabble FC) - GOAL 3 - latching onto a through ball from midfield beating three defenders and holding them off with his pace before burying a powerful shot from just inside the penalty area to put Scrabble 4-2 up and provide some breathing space after Fortune had hit back to make it 3-2

- SVI FREEDMAN (Los Blancos) - to keep on with his brilliant form at the start of this season, Freedman with an absolute belter from the edge of the area to clinch the fourth

- AKIVA SOLOMON (Faithfold A) - scored a 35-yard screamer of a free-kick in the top corner against Oakwood B

- ADAM ELLIS (Bayern Mincha) - super-sub Alon Pinhas's acrobaticfirst touch on the half volley from the half way line, puts Adam Biton through on goal, but was unselfish and pulled it back for Ellis to tap in. Was very Bayern Munich-esqe football

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- ZACK NATHAN (Brady Maccabi) - stepped in as goalkeeper today and pulled off a great last-minute save when faced one-on-one with David Cohen.

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- JEFF GOTCH (Catford & Bromley) - "We may have used up all of our nine lives in this one game but we'll take it!

- BRANDON HAMME (Mill Hill Dons) - "When at our best the sky is the limit for us and we can go into every game knowing we have a chance"

- JASON STEIN (Oakwood B) - "Of course it’s not all milk and honey. Really we gave away four of the most stupid goals. Those careless individual errors need to be cut out. No team can afford to give up four goals like that. But we’ll bounce back from this for sure"

- JAMES GERSHFIELD (Lions White) - "From number 1 to number 14 we were excellent. There is a real belief around the camp that our season has now stated with back-to-back wins and we go into next weeks game with huge confidence. I guess the ‘so-called A team’ put the record straight today!"

- RAY ABRAHAMS (Scrabble FC) - "It's also great to see a club like Temple Fortune with a great heritage back on track after some difficult times and their players and management team are a credit to the league"

- AARON DIAS (Fairlop FC) - "If Catford are going to be our closet challenger for the title, they may aswell give us the trophy now!"

OAKWOOD A 3 HENDON UTD SPORTS CLUB 1

Premier Division champions Oakwood A won the all-MGBSFL clash with goals from Tom Cantor, Simon Davies and Sam Cantor steering them past Hendon 3-1 and into round two of the LFASCC.

Avi Korman was the scorer for Hendon.

Oaks joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "This cup is an unknown to us and we will thrive the challenge in the next round against Vista."

Hendon boss Greg Corin told JC Sport: "We've struggled for players so far this season and also had opposition teams call off games three weeks in a row, so it's not the start we wanted but once we get a run of games we will be back to our best."

MACCABI LONDON LIONS WHITE 4 MACCABI LONDON LIONS BLUE 3

Lions White exacted revenge on Lions Blue in a seven-goal thriller at Rowley Lane, with goals from Ben Lampert (2), Kiki Levin and Josh Weiner helping them complete a thrilling comeback after trailing 3-0.

Adam Abadi, Daniel Fattal and Jono Gaon were the marksmen for Lions Blue who led 3-0 inside the opening 20 minutes but Weiner completed the turnaround in a titanic tussle the White finished with nine men following the dismissals of Lampert and Alex Taylor, with the final word going to goalkeeper Jordan Sharifian who saved a stoppage time penalty.

After catching his breath, Lions White boss James Gershfield told JC Sport: "From number 1 to number 14 we were excellent. There is a real belief around the camp that our season has now started with back to back wins and we go into next week's game with huge confidence. I guess the ‘socalled A-team’ put the record straight today."

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 1 BRADY MACCABI 1

Ben Kohler kept league leaders Brady Maccabi a point clear at the top as they shared the points with Raiders who went ahead through David Dinkin's penalty.

Brady boss Joel Nathan told JC Sport: "With a few players missing, we knew we would have to dig deep today and that’s what the boys did after going behind to a second-half penalty. I cannot fault the boys for their effort today, especially Ricky Rinder who was superb today. Also have to mention Zack Nathan who stepped in as goalkeeper today and pulled off a great last-minute save when faced one-on-one with David Cohen. Oakwood up next and we know how hard that will be so the boys will train hard this week so they are ready."

NLR manager Dan Shafron told JC Sport: "We're disappointed as it feels like a defeat considering how dominant we were. We had several chances to put the game to bed after taking the lead but conceded a weak equaliser and couldn't find another goal after that. There are still plenty of positives to take though, especially from the second half but I'm confident that if we stay positive and keep working hard, the results will start to follow."

FAITHFOLD A 4 OAKWOOD B 3

A deadly double from Chaim Bordon saw Faithfold A edge a seven-goal thriller at the Hive as they condemned Oakwood B to defeat in their opening league match. Further strikes from David Leiwy and Akiva Solomon proved decisive for Avi Markiewicz's men.

Jacob Richler Kleiman, Daniel Seligman and Ben Peppi struck for Oakwood

A delighted Markiewicz told JC Sport: "We missed most of our full-backs and it really disrupted our shape and our pattern of passing, however we managed to battle through winning when far from our best is a good sign."

Oaks boss Jason Stein told JC Sport: "I'm struggling to think of a time when I’ve come away from defeat more positive than today. I’m still mystified as to how we lost really."

L’EQUIPE 0 LOS BLANCOS 4

Los Blancos maintained their 100 per cent league record with a perfect performance in front of the JC cameras, with strikes from Svi Freedman, Tim Heynes, Oli Sade and Josh Aziz.

Blancos joint-manager Joel Salomon told JC Sport: "It was a strong, dominant performance from Los Blancos where the score didn’t flatter us. It all started from the back with rock solid performances from Krieger and Doffman – nothing was getting pass them on Sunday."

Disappointed L'Equipe boss Nick Stern told JC Sport: "Fair play to Los Blancos they are a young keen team with a very good quick striker and we just couldn’t cope when tiredness kicked in.

TEMPLE FORTUNE A 3 SCRABBLE FC 5

A fab four-goal salvo from teenager ZAC SUMMERFIELD steered Scrabble to their first win as they won a game of goals against an inconsistent Temple Fortune at Silver Jubilee Park.

Eshed Rehav, Brett Stead and Gab Stone registered for Fortune, but it was Scrabble's day.

Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "Now we are in the top four the aim is to stay in that leading pack and see how far we can go."

Fortune manager Simon Linden told JC Sport: "It was a very disappointing morning. We gave away some terrible goals and every time we responded with one, we went on to concede another. So we never got a foothold on the game."

BAYERN MINCHA 4 REAL HENDON 1

Bayern Mincha laid down their title credentials by inflicting Real's first defeat of the league campaign.

Adam Hersh had put Real ahead with a lob over the keeper from a Benny Goldberg flick-on.

Bayern joint-manager Daniel Holder told JC Sport: "We will now move onto working on a few more things that I believe needs development in our team, during training and hopefully next Sunday we can continue our good run against Faithfold."

Real's Motty Korman told JC Sport: "We started well and went ahead but then a mistake between keeper and defender gifted them an equaliser and it changed the game. We were missing a few of our regulars and it showed today. Well done to Mincha who took their chances."

CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI 1 FAIRLOP FC 1

An 87th minute penalty from the ice-cool Jamie Sinai earned Catford & Bromley a share of the spoils against promotion rivals Fairlop, cancelling out an effort from Brad Gayer.

Relieved Catford player-manager Jeff Gotch told JC Sport: "We may have used up all of our nine lives in this one game but we'll take it! Fairlop are a decent side, with some nice ball-players, but we battled hard and even though we were not at our best we ground out the point. They may look at the ref for the reason they didn't win but they can't use the same excuse for some of their players not shaking our hands."

Fairlop boss Aaron Dias told JC Sport: "It was a very very frustrating day for us, once the dust settles we'll be content with the point but very disappointing as we dominated most of the game."

FC TEAM 4 HERTSWOOD VALE 2

Two goals from player-manager Mitch Young, including a stunning 25-yard free-kick, helped FC Team secured their first league success of the season after beating Hertswood 4-2. Richard Salmon and Breger completed the scoring.

FC Team boss Mitch Young told JC Sport: "We were awful in the first half and even though we probably did not deserve to be losing at half-time, we found ourselves trailing. I changed the formation in the second half and we were in total control scored four goals and could have had more."

Edan Dodi bagged a brace for Hertswood and joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "We finished with nine men but I won’t go into about the referee on this occasion. We led 2-1 at half-time but picked up a number of injuries during the game which ruined our flow."

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C 1 MILL HILL DONS 5

A quality hat-trick from ZACH COHEN helped Mill Hill Dons make it three wins in four matches as they produced a five-star showing against promotion rivals Raiders C.

Adam Lisberg and Harry Moss added the gloss to leave boss Brandon Hamme purring. He told JC Sport: "To go away to Wembley and come back with three points is what dreams are made of. The boys put in 110 per cent throughout and look comfortable from start to finish. When at our best the sky is the limit for us and we can go into every game knowing we have a chance."

Alex Sherr fired a consolation for Raiders. Zack Gothelf told JC Sport: "It was a tough day at the office for Raiders, missing some crucial players and things got worse as the Dons scored three in the first eight minutes."

STRAW HAT PIRATES 3 TEMPLE FORTUNE B 1

Straw Hat Pirates sealed their first-ever victory in the MGSBFL after putting Temple Fortune B to the sword 3-1.
