JC GOAL OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- LOLU HIBBERT (FAITHFOLD DOC MM B) - Adam Hersh sent over a cross from the left to the edge of the box and as the ball dropped over his shoulder, Hibbert smashed a first-time volley into the top corner to make it 3-2 with five minutes to go. A goal worthy of winning any game

- MICHAEL KENLEY (ML LIONS) - smashed a free-kick into the bottom corner late in the first half

- ADAM ARNOLD (ML LIONS) - hit a fantastic free-kick from range which the keeper just got hands on but couldn’t stop the ball from just getting over the line

------------------

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- DANIEL PIKE (SPEC FC) - made a fantastic save at 1-1 just before half time. Had it have gone in, the game could’ve been very different

- DANIEL KING (Oakwood B) - one of the most breathtaking double saves Sam Rank has seen this season. Outstanding work from the Oakwood keeper

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- JON YANTIN (Scrabble FC B) - "Based on the support Hashem gave the Faithfold striker for his awesome volley, I have just placed an order for Scrabble branded-yamulkes to wear for our next match!"

- STIRLING KAY (Los Camden A) - "It was a pleasure to welcome Tony Incenzo from TALKSPORT to this MGBSFL fixture - the league deserves this exposure as there is high-quality football on display in many games"

PETER MORRISON TROPHY ROUND TWO

HMH 9 FAIRLOP FC 0

OSCAR WAGNER (4) and ADAM ABADI  scored hat-tricks as HMH marched into the last eight of the Jewish FA Cup after destroying a weakened Fairlop FC at the Hive.

Fairlop were missing key men Ryan Cole and captain Bradley Gayer, and HMH showed no mercy, storming into a 5-0 lead at half-time.

SEE MATCH PHOTOGALLERY

Abadi scored a first-half hat-trick, with him and strike partner Wagner running Fairlop ragged, in a tie where Ben Winters (2) added the gloss.

HMH will host the winner of Jewdinese or Oakwood A in the quarter-finals.

Victorious boss Avi Goldberg told JC Sport: "As I said before the match, today had all the hallmarks of being a tricky encounter - a high-flying team from Division One playing a Premier team who has failed to win its last three games. My lads responded in best way possible by blowing Fairlop away. A weakened Fairlop perhaps, but nevertheless 9-0 is a huge score. We dominated the game, dominated possession and scored almost at will. By half-time it was 5-0, Oscar Wagner had his hat-trick from a superb team move and Adam Adabi has two, one a superb header from a great free-kick delivered by Josh Goldstein. In the second half Fairlop did have a bit more of the ball and came close to scoring on a couple of occasions but generally it was more of the same as we rattled in another four goals and missed a few straight forward chances."

DC Prediction: HMH 2 Fairlop 1

OLI SADE was the hat-trick hero as Los Camden cruised to their fourth league win after putting Faithfold to the sword.

Jubilant Los Camden boss Stirling Kay told JC Sport: "The morale in the dressing room is fantastic and the boys have the belief they can go on to do something special this season, my job is to keep their feet firmly on the ground and make sure they put in the hard work on the training ground to be able to stay competitive into the business end of the season."

MACCABI LONDON LIONS 3 OAKWOOD A 1

Goals from Michael Kenley, Adam Arnold and Benji Weinberger earned Maccabi London Lions their best league win of the season as they dented Oakwood's title hopes with an excellent team performance at Rowley Lane.

Lions joint-manager Max Kyte told JC Sport: “Today we won the game before kick-off. The whole group were focussed and together from the moment they arrived in the changing room to stepping foot on the pitch. There was only one result we would accept today."

Dale Bradman scored Oakwood consolation. Oaks joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "It was a bad day at the office. We dominated most of the game and at 1-1, there was only one winner but we made silly mistakes at key times and Lions took full advantage. We will now focus on both cup competitions where and both Dave Cohen and I are looking for a reaction. We have to improve, it's that simple."

An ALEX PARASKEVA inspired RJC A continued their pursuit of the MGBSFL Division One title with what joint-manager Sam Rank described as "a workmanlike win over a very spirited and hard-working Oakwood B side".

Super-sub Paraskeva came off the bench to win the match with three cool finishes in the final 25 minutes. RJC joint-manager Sam Rank told JC Sport: "OurA defence were extremely strong and solid today, and this gave our attacking players a great platform to get the victory today. It was brilliant to see Alex Paraskeva and Jamie Cooper back in RJC A shirts, and Alex's hat-trick was just world-class."

Dan Cohen, Josh Green and Ricky Lawrence fired SPEC FC to their ninth league win of the season as they beat Raiders Masters 3-1.

SPEC will temporarily go top, although Hertswood Vale will return to the summit once they are awarded three points from today's match in which Faithfold C forfeited.

Jubilant player-manager Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: "It was a good victory against a side who passed the ball around extremely well. We took our chances when we needed to and dug in well to ensure we took all three points.”

Raiders' player-manager James Cartmell told JC Sport: "Frustrating game to be honest; we had plenty of possession and put pressure on the SPEC defence, but created very few decent chances."

SCRABBLE FC B 2 FAITHFOLD DOC MM B 4

Faithfold B maintained their promotion push with a hard-fought win over Scrabble FC B in a niggly encounter at the Hive, coming from a goal down to earn their ninth win of the season. Adam Hersh, Alex Goodman, Lolu Hibbert and Motty Korman registered for Faithfold.

Rob Kleinman put Scrabble ahead before Faithfold rallied to lead 2-1. Scrabble equalised on the stroke of half-time when Alex Bourne ended a counter-attack with a composed finish. But two goals in the final 10 minutes swung the match in Faithfold's favour. First they broke away to score a wonder volley before sealing it in injury time from the penalty spot.

Faithfold's Motty Korman told JC Sport: "It was not the best game of football, very start-stop, but we're pleased with the three points."

Scrabble boss Jon Yantin expressed disappointment with the result, but not the performance. He told JC Sport: "We made them work very, very hard for their win and based on the support Hashem gave their striker for his awesome volley, I have just placed an order for Scrabble-branded yamulkes to wear for our next match!"
