JC GOAL OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

RYAN COLE (Fairlop FC) - sensational, inch-perfect, curling 30-yard free-kick against Faithfold

KIKI LEVIN (Hendon United Sports) - received the ball all of 35 yards out, took a touch out of his feet and hit a rocket of a strike over the stranded keeper

JONNY KAY  (Hendon United Sports) - 25-yard low driven striker that the keeper stood no chance of getting to

BILLY LEE (Jewdinese) - a lovely cross from Reiss Mogilner on the right wing and Lee peeled off his marker and headed home

ZACK NEIMAN (SPEC FC) - scored the best goal team-mate Jonny Blain has ever seen!

---------------------

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

JAMES HARPIN (North West London Bears) - PSJ had a 2-on-1, the ball was squared to Josh Cohen who could have tapped in to the empty net but Harpin sprung across and made an unbelievable save

MAX FREEDMAN (Fairlop FC) - stunning one-handed save in the penalty shoot-out against Faithfold

ED BLOOM (Temple Fortune) - top-class save against FC Team

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

JAMES ROSE (Club de Chigwell) - "Today showed what CdC are all about. Tenacious in defence and clinical in attack. We are still not the finished product, as the first half showed where we could have performed a lot better, but the second half performance was impressive and we will look to build a run in the league"

DANIEL JACOBS (Redbridge Jewish Care) - (reflecting on the 8-0 mauling at the hands of NLR) - "It was one better than Southampton managed against Leicester! We'll pick ourselves up and go again next week"

ELIO ELIA (Paris Saint-Jewmain) -  "Josh Cohen and Zac Summerfield is a partnership that I think can do a lot of damage for us in the future"

SIMON LINDEN (Temple Fortune) - "Credit to boys, yes we were not at our best and could have done more, but I can’t fault the effort and it shows how far we have come that I can be gutted to lose against the title favourites"

RICKY LAWRENCE (SPEC FC) - “To be 2-0 and 3-1 up and lose is disappointing. Fair play to Galaxy though, that shows great character and I’m sure our boys are already chomping at the bit for the return game"

JAKE SANDERS (Fairlop FC) - "We were short on players today. We had three boys that could hardly walk for the final ten minutes, but in terms of the application and fight, I couldn't have physically asked more from the boys. The fact we conceded in the 88th minute, but still managed to scored all five of our penalties moments later speaks volumes about the character of this side"

JAMES HARPIN (North West London Bears) - "Next week we face Temple Fortune, we will make several changes to the squad, picking the people that will work hard for the team and will do the jobs we ask them to do"

YOUR WEEKEND PREVIEW STARTS HERE:

CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP ROUND TWO

BROOK FARM ROVERS 1 HENDON UNITED SPORTS 7

A late flurry of goals earned holders Hendon United victory at first division Brook Farm Rovers.

Zack Lewis (pen), Ari Nevies, Kiki Levin, Dovi Fehler, Zac Garbacz, Jonny Kay and Jordan Mizrahi registered for Hendon.

Joint-player-manager Dan Cohen replied for Rovers.

Hendon manager Jordan Sapler told JC Sport: "This was another comprehensive win - it was a thoroughly professional performance from the boys. Good luck to Brook Farm for the remainder of their season."

FAIRLOP FC 1 FAITHFOLD DOCMM WHITE 1 (Fairlop won 5-3 on penalties)

Fairlop edged into round two at the expense of Premier Division rivals after winning on penalties.

It finished 1-1 at Seven Kings after 90 minutes, with Ryan Cole netting a sensational free-kick for the hosts, and it was the Essex boys who held their nerve to win 5-3 in the shoot-out.

Fairlop assistant-manager Jake Sanders told JC Sport: "We were short on players today. We had three boys that could hardly walk for the final ten minutes, but in terms of the application and fight, I couldn't have physically asked more from the boys. The fact we conceded in the 88th minute, but still managed to scored all five of our penalties moments later speaks volumes about the character of this side. A special mention to Max Freedman, who put in a major shift between the sticks."

HMH 1 CAMDEN PARK 0

A 71st strike from Ethan Krell earned HMH maximum points as they extended their unbeaten run to five games with a hard-fought win over Camden Park at the Hive.

HMH manager Avi Goldberg told JC Sport: "It was not a vintage performance from HMH by any standards, but a win with a clean sheet will do. We made enough chances to win handsomely and hit the bar at least twice but a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping from Camden prevented a greater margin of victory."

Camden boss Stirling Kay told JC Sport: "'I am proud of the performances of the boys today who stuck to the game-plan and frustrated a strong HMH side. Until we had to throw the kitchen sink due to their penalty there were few clear-cut chances, if we take this performance into future games we will get many good results."

MACCABI LONDON FC BLUE 2 OAKWOOD 2

Two goals from Josh Cuby earned Oakwood a point after a 2-2 draw against MLFC at Rowley Lane.

MLFC player-manager Max Kyte told JC Sport: "We led twice and felt we deserved the win on the balance. We were disappointed to only walk away with a point, but that’s football!"

JEWDINESE 8 BAYERN MINCHA 0

REISS MOGILNER fired a hat-trick in Jewdinese's 8-0 demolition of Bayern Mincha. Further strikes from Zac Brin (2), Billy Lee, Sim Cohen and Zack Collins completed the rout.

Jubilant 'Nese boss Darren Lawrence told JC Sport: "We dominated the game from start to finish and was it not for the Bayern keeper, the score would've hit double figures."

NORTH LONDON GALAXY 4 SPEC FC 3

JAKE MOSS'S treble kept Galaxy flying high at the top after winning a seven-goal thriller against SPEC FC.

Jordan Grundman scored Galaxy's other goal in a game where ZACK NEIMAN scored three times for SPEC.

Galaxy player-manager Luke Lewis told JC Sport: "From the first minute, we were more on it. Seconds balls shortly became ours and our passing was of a much higher quality and we stopped forcing the killer ball. We continue our unbeaten run and know that in order to get a result against a deflated Jewdinese next week who’ve struggled as of recent were going to need to be on it."

SPEC player-manager Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: "To be 2-0 and 3-1 up and lose is disappointing. Fair play to Galaxy though, that shows great character and I’m sure our boys are already chomping at the bit for the return game.”

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS 8 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE 0

A four-goal bonanza from LIRON MANNIE eased Raiders to a handsome 8-0 triumph over Redbridge in Wembley.

Matt Warner (2), Dan Behar and Jordan Nathan added their names to the scoresheet as Raiders returned to winning ways.

NLR joint-manager Gideon Gale told JC Sport: "It was probably our best performance to date and the perfect way to bounce back from our disappointing cup exit last week. We controlled the game from minute one, it was exceptional from 1 to 11 and I can’t actually remember Redbridge making it into our box."

RJC boss Daniel Jacobs told JC Sport his team had a bad day at the office. "Sometimes you have to put your hands up and say you've been beaten by a better team. I can't fault the desire of the team, and first half was as strong as I've seen from us - matching NLR in all areas. We dropped off in the second half and against a quality team, you're going to be picked off."

DIVISION 2 TEAM OF THE WEEK

BORUSSIA BARNET 1 FAITHFOLD DOCMM GREEN 1

Borussia Barnet's promotion charge was frustrated by Faithfold DocMM Green as Jamie Rodney struck for the Superhoops.

Michael Kenley scored his first competitive goal for Borussia in a game they will reflect on as two points dropped.

Faithfold player-manager Ben Kfir told JC Sport: "Overall, I was pleased with the performance. We had the majority of the chances in the first half and should have capitalised more, but I was very happy with our passing and general play."

FC TEAM 3 TEMPLE FORTUNE 1

FC Team player-manager Mitch Young celebrated his birthday in style - with a goal and a win - that helped his side move clear at the top of the table after they came from a goal down to beat joint-leaders Temple Fortune in Edgware. Jonny Haik and Dave Cohen completed the comeback for FC Team.

Simon Cohen had opened the scoring for Fortune.

FC Team player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: "I am delighted with the win. Fortune are a physically strong side and the conditions suited them today, even though they made it tough for us I felt we dominated the game and if it wasn’t for their goalkeeper it would have been a slightly more comfortable morning."

PARIS SAINT-JEWMAIN 2 NORTH WEST LONDON BEARS 0

PSJ got back to winning ways thanks to goals from Louis Relevy and Zack Summerfield in the 2-0 win over the Bears.

PSJ manager Elio Elia told JC Sport: "We came into the game knowing we needed a win against a tough opponent who were undefeated in the league. In the end it was a great result for our boys and thoroughly deserved after our second half performance."

Bears' boss James Harpin told JC Sport: "We could have been 5-0 up at half-time with the chances we created. We spoke during the break about taking our chances and winning the game comfortably. The second half performance was dire and we deserved to lose in the end."

Deadly doubles from Daniel Garfinkle and Saul Green earned Club De Chigwell an impressive away win over Scrabble at JCoSS.

Alex Bourne and Lloyd Becker fired consolation strikes for Scrabble.

CdC co-manager James Rose told JC Sport: "Today showed what CdC are all about. Tenacious in defence and clinical in attack. We are still not the finished product, as the first half showed where we could have performed a lot better, but the second half performance was impressive and we will look to build a run in the league."
